First Recipients of Golden Escallop After Award Registration ~
Robert Thorne & Nessa von Metten
July 31st, 2021
Forester Robert Thorne
As the years pass and the dark days of The Great Plague retreat into legend, let the fireside tale-tellers of Illiton remember the steadfast SERVICE of Our Baronial Signet, Forester Robert Thorne. Undaunted by the fear and uncertainty of the times, Forester Robert urged the scribes of Our barony to produce a plethora of scrolls (many of which he himself penned and illuminated)–so that We might continue to hold court and encourage Our people to persevere.
In recognition of Robert’s selfless toil, today We bestow upon him the AWARD OF THE GOLDEN ESCALLOP and grant onto him the right to bear the badge, Azure, on an escallop inverted Or a fountain in base all within an orle of rope Or. Furthermore, We give Our Signet leave to trim his quill in Our presence whensoever he should deem it necessary.
So say We, Maire and John, upon the occasion of Our Final Tournament of Martial Champions as Baroness and Baron of Illiton, on this thirty-first day of July, AS. LVI (56).
Lady Nessa von Metten
In the years to come, as the shadow of the Great Plague fades from memory, let the tavern bards of Illiton not forget the unflagging SERVICE of Our Baronial Pursuivant, Lady Nessa von Metten. Without the voice of Our Herald during those dark days, We could not have held court to raise the spirits of Our people. Additionally, without Lady Nessa’s scribal skills, We would not have had the abundance of scrolls that We, in the midst of chaos, were able to bestow.
In recognition of Nessa’s dedication and zeal, today We bestow upon her the AWARD OF THE GOLDEN ESCALLOP and grant onto her the right to bear the badge, Azure, on an escallop inverted Or a fountain in base all within an orle of rope Or. Furthermore, We give Our Herald leave to clear her throat in Our presence whensoever she should deem it necessary.
So say We, Maire and John, upon the occasion of Our Final Tournament of Martial Champions as Baroness and Baron of Illiton, on this thirty-first day of July, AS. LVI (56).
