Candidate Information
Candidates Letter of Intent:
Unto their Most Royal Majesties, their Excellencies of Illiton, and the Seneschal of Illiton Lady Oda Umi do we, Alured and Arianna Husher send greetings.
It is our decision after much discussion to present ourselves as candidates to have the honor of serving as the next Baron and Baroness of Illiton. We did not enter into this decision lightly; many nights of soul-searching and logistics discussions took place. We believe serving as Baron and Baroness, as representatives of the crown, to be one of the highest levels of service any person in a barony can hold. We desire to serve the barony in this capacity to continue the great tradition of championing the people of Illiton and strengthening the bonds with our fellow groups in the kingdom. The worldwide events of the past year will usher in a new era for the SCA as a whole and we wish to help the barony and society thrive. Our combined time in the SCA, though it may be small in comparison with others at 40 years, has only increased the love for our barony and the kingdom.
As of this date, Lord Alured serves as one of the main Feast o’crats in the Illiton Cooking Guild and his tenure as exchequer is coming to an end. He has been awarded an Award of Arms, a Purple Fret for service to the barony, a Silver Oak, and a Royal Augmentation of Arms of an annulet Or for answering the call to service of the neighboring group. He was once a heavy fighter for the barony and fought for the kingdom at Pennsic.
As of this date, Lady Arianna has just finished her tenure of serving as chronicler. She has served as both exchequer and chiurgeon in the past. She has been awarded an Award of Arms, multiple Purple Frets for service to the barony, and a Royal Augmentation of Arms of an annulet Or for also answering the call to service by the neighboring group. She has served as Feast o’crat for multiple baronial events, as autocrat and co-autocrat for multiple events including the Coronation of their Excellencies Count Seto and Countess Ynes and is a long-serving member of the Illiton Cooking Guild.
We know we cannot be fully aware of the heavy responsibility of wearing the Baronial coronets unless chosen but we are prepared to do our very best in service of our barony and Crown. Our baronial predecessors have set a very high standard that we hope to emulate. We wish to serve together and not separately. Even if we are not chosen by the Crown, we will serve under the new Baron and Baroness of Illiton with a light heart and continued diligence to our barony and kingdom.

Polling Instructions
The Crown of the Middle Kingdom wishes the widest possible counsel on matters relating to the Kingdom; thus, it is requested that all members respond to this baronial poll for the Barony of Illiton.
All baronial residents should please complete the poll located at this Link: RESIDENT
A resident is defined as a person who lives within the geographic boundaries of the barony regardless of Society membership status. Please check with your Baronial Seneschal or on the Middle Kingdom website if you are unsure of your group’s geographic area.

While these polls are tallied separately, the Crown still values the opinions of all members of Their populace.
