Expansion of the
Order Of Crossed Needles

In ancient times the Founding Baroness and Baron of Illiton, Maria Teresa Ribeiro dos Santos and Orson die Grosse Mauer, did create THE ORDER OF THE CROSSED NEEDLES. This honor was given to those gentles who made things of fabric for the barony—such as banners, table linens, pavilions and garb—objects of lasting value that could be used for multiple events and made Illiton more efficient, more decorous and more authentic.

Now do We, Maire and John, current Baroness and Baron of Illiton, choose to EXPAND this order. We say that any Illitonite who creates a durable thing in any medium that makes Our barony stronger, better, more inviting is eligible for membership. Therefore, today We admit into the order’s ranks Master Gunther von Stein (posthumously) and The Honorable Lord David of Lochmorrow for constructing and decorating Our BARONIAL FEAST BOX—an incredibly useful object that is both sturdy and beautiful.

Membership in this order grants the right to bear the badge, Azure, two needles in saltire, points to chief, argent, and conveys the responsibility to critically examine and comment upon baronial gear when necessary, making helpful suggestions on repair and maintenance.

So say We, Maire and John, Baroness and Baron of Illiton, after witnessing Our Annual Martial Championship Tournaments on this eighteenth day of July, AS LV (55).
