Establishment of the
Guard of Illiton

July 15th, 2017 ~ AS52

Rest assured all ye who dwell within the borders of Our lands that We, Maire and John, Baroness and Baron of Illiton, consider the protection of your homes and families to be Our highest priority—even more important than the collection of taxes and tolls.

To aid in Our defense, we hereby establish THE GUARD OF ILLITON and name the Lord Commander as its captain.  The roster of this martial company shall include all Illitonites who are authorized armored combatants, all who are authorized fencers, all those who are practiced in the arts of archery and thrown weapons, and any who are authorized equestrians or siege engineers.

Members of THE GUARD OF ILLITON have the right to bear the badge:  fieldless, on a tower sable, a fountain.  They are also encouraged, especially when participating in martial activities to wear the colors of Our barony.  Examples of blue-and-white garb include, but are not limited to, tabbards, baldrics, hoods and cloaks.

Guard members may take orders from one of the Baronial Champions or serve one of Our local knights or answer directly to the Lord Commander, AT HIS DISCRETION.

So say We, Maire and John, Baroness and Baron of Illiton, at Our Tournament of Martial Champions, in Our Canton of Lochmorrow, on this fifteenth day of July, AS LII (52).
