Bone Dry Site

*** SITE IS BONE DRY! ***
SITE IS BONE DRY, DESERT DRY, DRY DRY DRY

From, Baron John Inchingham
This site has been made available to us through the generosity of Lady Arianna’s mundane employer.  Should you choose to bring alcohol to this BONE DRY SITE  (even if it remains in your car in the parking lot);  I, Master John Inchingham the Fool, Baron of Illiton, will compose for you a song of infamy.  I will make your name rhyme with boorishness and discourtesy.  I will give you word-fame throughout the Known World — but not in a good way.

Please DON’T MAKE ME UNPACK MY ADJECTIVES!

Site Accessibility

Service animals, Pets and Comfort Animals:
Service animals are welcome
Comfort animals and Pets are not allowed on site.

Please direct any questions on this to Illiton’s Seneschal and Event Steward;
THL Oda Umi, [email protected]

SCA policy follows the ADA 2010, Revised Requirements for Service Animals

Site is Moderately Physically Handicapped Accessible:
Rites of Spring is a mixed indoor/outdoor event. Inclement weather could strongly impact event accessibility. The parking lot is a mix of gravel and packed gravel. There is covered sidewalk access in front of building.
Indoor area is one level, mostly a single large room, smooth concrete floor, no stairs. Outdoor areas are generally flat, all are grassy.
The indoor restrooms have minimally accessible stalls (bars present, doors swing out on stalls.) The rented porta’s outdoors are not handicapped accessible.

Information for those with Sound and Movement Sensitivities:
The indoor space is nearly all one large room, with concrete walls and floors. Sounds can become loud, with some echo, and magnified.
The outdoor spaces are a mix of grassy areas, and under a large pavilion.
Inclement weather could strongly impact how event spaces are used and various aural bubbles, particularly from martial activity sound overlap.

Information for those with Chemical and Fragrance Sensitivities:
When we have used this site in the past, a few people have offered feedback that the chemical smells in the air outside were strong to them and acted as an irritant. It is unknown how/if weather or wind may impact this.

Weapon Policy

*** No Weapons on Site! ***
Lady Arianna Husher

No weapon policy:  including firearms, and ‘live steel’ (machetes, axes, tridents, arrows, spears, etc.) allowed on site.  This is due to the site being on corporate owned land and follows Federal Guidelines.
SCA approved Rattan/Rapier/Archery/Thrown Weapons allowed.
Cardboard, Styrofoam, foam, plastic, ‘boffer’, & prop replacements allowed.

Thank you!
