DESCRIPTION:
One of four baronial arts and sciences awards, the Salmon of Illiton recognizes the accumulation of KNOWLEDGE regarding artistic activities and scientific endeavors associated with the Society for Creative Anachronism. The award is given to those whose experience and prowess at a chosen task is such that other SCA members ask them for help or advice.
The expectation is not one of mastery (rewarding that level of skill is a prerogative of the Crown). However, recipients of the award should be capable of work that will reflect positively on the barony and add to its renown. This honor may be granted multiple times to the same gentle for different activities.
